FERN has ventured into the world of film. Her first project, currently making the short film festival circuit, Photo Op a short film by writer/director Dave Solomon. Photo Op is the Merit Award Winner of Best Shorts. The first acceptance was the Queens World Film Festival – big deal for Fern since she’s a Queen’s girl. Fern is Executive Producer.

 FESTIVAL OF CINEMA NYC (FOCNYC) is a non-profit entity established to support the development and audience, of independent cinema from around the world. Our aim is to create a presence and awareness of cinematic creativity throughout NYC, Queens and the neighboring communities.  FOCNYC is a competitive film festival with programming that consists of over 100 independent films, of varying lengths, genres and subjects.  The 2020 the festival will take place at iconic Forest Hills Midway Theater for a 10-day period. There will be free programming at the Queens Museum located in Flushing Meadow Park and workshops held at the Forest Hills library. In just 3 years FOCNYC has become the biggest film festival in Queens, attracting over 3,000 visitors from around the world. Launched 2016.

Fern was part of the original launch team as Advertising and Sponsorship Director. She now sits on board.
